Danish consumer demands EVOO

As we have observed in different posts on this blog, the northern European countries are increasing their consumption of EVOO among their healthy fats, and Denmark was not going to be less. The consumption of oil per household has increased between 2015 and 2019 by more than 12%, going to an expense in EVOO from 26 euros in 2015 to 29 in 2019. This increase is based on the fact that these consumers consider EVOO to be healthier than others products like margarine. In this sense, EVOO volume sales are behind rapeseed oil, being 27.32% in 2015 to 27.77% in 2019, but nevertheless, in value they have increased more than 19%. It must also be taken into account that this public demands more quality products and products different from the traditional one and that is why the country's distributors have increased their variety of EVOO such as organic, truffled or spicy oil. When we talk about imports from the Danish country, Italy is in first place with 45% of the Danish EVOO market, followed by Spain with 35% of this market in 2019.
